Used Postage Stamp Swap ATCs

Another set of ATCs that are going postal on Monday. I had tons of fun with these, but I think I’m starting to run out of postage stamps now….. at least for the moment. I hope the other participants will like them too.

Oh, and Debby Visser you rock my world. The postie dropped off an envelope from you today. Thanks for the flowers, and thanks for the nice postage stamps, too. ;)

First Fabric ATC

Having a little bit of fun on some swap cards I’m doing, and I was totally inspired by the stamp featuring Mount McKinley in Alaska.

The fabrics are all linen or cotton with a felt interior to give it some body. The fabrics were also enhanced with some blue Pentel FabricFun fabric pastels for the sky, and some white Pebeo Touch Volume on the white linen to give the effect of snow on the mountains.

Measure It Up! swap

I made these for a current swap and they are going postal on Monday. I had so much fun with these, especially since my rubber stamps are so much better organized now!

The backgrounds are all done with rainbow dye ink pads, in this case I used Adirondack Inkpads and then blended the colours with a baby wipe. These were all done on regular white cardstock.

If you are interested the ruler stamp and gents stamps are both Paper Artsy, the clock stamp is available through Stampingtons and the pointing hand is Ma Vinci.

Wausau Papers.

On Scrap That Moment we loaded up our Wausau Papers, including my Carving layout. In my spare time, I also made this ATC which I’ve entitled ‘Two of Frogs’. The frogs are stamped on the Wausau paper. If you are interested in the details of the supplies I’ve used, just click on the photo as I’ve loaded that into the gallery info. :)

Inspired Sheep #2 -- Piet Mondrian

This is the second in the series, and you’ll either get it or you won’t. That’s just the nature of this particular artist. I first experienced a Piet Mondrian piece about 20 years ago while visiting an art gallery. To say that I didn’t quite ‘get it’ would be more than a slight understatement, but over the years I’ve developed a fondness for his work. Based on his later works, here is my Mondrian Inspired Sheep.

First Sheep ATC

In fact, this is the first in a series of sheep ATCs. This series is going to be called ‘Inspired Sheep’ since each ATC will be a direct style inspiration of another artist. I’ll keep going with them until I run out of artists…. this should take a while. I’m hoping to be able to create several of these a week, and I’ll keep posting them here as I finish them.

Today’s Inspired Sheep is based on Rowena Laing, an artist from Dundee who I discovered while at a small art gallery in Edinburgh last year. She caught my attention because she uses sheep images in many of her paintings, and this is directly inspired from her ‘Precarious Cottages’ piece—a print of which I have next to my desk in my studio. I thought she’d be the perfect artist with which to start.

Playing with ATCs

These are so much fun… and so addicting. I’m having a lot of fun trying some different stuff on these. Here are a few I made yesterday and today:

The first was inspired by a challenge on Scrap That Moment which was an inspiration challenge using a box of Godiva chocolates.
