February Round-up

Photos for Project 365 for February:

Day 60: Baby Girl

Although I take quite a few portrait photos I don’t often post them on this blog, but as my original photo op fell through I had to fall back to my photo session from this morning. The wee one and I do this at least once a week which has given me a lovely chronicle (can I stretch that to TIMEline?) of her life to date.

I’ll blog about the jacket she’s wearing in the photo tomorrow. ;)

Day 58: Rootbeer

I love rootbeer, and it’s something that isn’t easy to get in the UK. I made a special stop on the way home from town today to grab a few bottles from a shop that imports rootbeer from America.

(Have you any idea how hard it was to take a photo before busting one of these puppies open?)

Day 56: High Level Bridge uncovered

For several years they’ve been doing works on the High Level Bridge (one of seven bridges crossing the Tyne at Newcastle) but they’ve finally taken down the tarps. The bridge is Victorian and has two transit levels, the lower level for road traffic and the upper level for trains.

Day 56: Self portrait at tea time

Karin’s theme for the week is time. :)

Day 51: Glee

This is a spinning wheel. This is a spinning wheel that is now residing in my lounge. This is a spinning wheel that requires a wee bit of maintenance…. but this is a spinning wheel that is now residing in my lounge. :)

Day 50: Morning Frost

We got frost this morning and I managed to get sight of this:

I’ve always wanted to take one of these photos. :)

Taken with my Sigma 70-300mm Macro lens with Sigma Achromatic Macro lens attached and Manfrotto tripod.

Day 49: Think tiny

Karin’s theme for the week is tiny
so I immediately pulled out the big guns and took a photo of our fence:

Specs:
Canon 300D
Sigma 70-300mm 4-5.6 APO MACRO lens (giving me 1:2)
with a Sigma Achromatic Macro lens (giving me 1:1)

Just for reference, this is a photo of a British penny with said combo (no cropping):

(A British penny is approximately the same size as an American or Canadian penny, but since I don’t have any comparision I can’t confirm exact dimensions. I know a 10p coin and a quarter are the same size, but, um, it didn’t fit in the photo. I love my lens.)

I love my boots.

Karin’s theme for this week is hearts and love so I pulled out one of the few heart shaped objects I own for a photo session with my beloved Docs. I’ve worn Docs since I was 14 and they are the only foot wear I ever wear other than my trainers. (I even threatened to wear them with my wedding dress.)

Happy heart day. :)

I love these hands

Every tuesday I have a little photo shoot with the wee one. Sometimes she’s really good and I can have a good go of it…. sometimes I’m lucky to get 4 shots in before either the crying begins or the outfit is spat up on. The joys of photographing babies. :)

After our little shoots I usually put her down on her playmat and sneak in a few more shots like this one.
