I’ve been spending the week creating. For the last 5 days, I’ve done nothing but create… yet I haven’t made a single scrapbook layout. I wanted to explore some new ideas, try some new things, and simply have some creative fun.
A while ago I stumbled across Queen of Tarts entry on doing a gluebook style self-portrait. I thought it was interesting, but I set it aside for a rainy day. Yesterday I decided I was finally going to do it, and I did. I grab a timer (set to 45 minutes), a couple of magazines, a glue stick and a blank sketch book. My self-portrait is more about me than resembles me, but hey…. no rules, right?
No, it’s not a masterpiece. But have you ever tried to get through an entire September issue Vogue magazine in 45 minutes AND create something?? Besides, it’s a bit of creative freedom. If you are interesting in gluebooks, you may with to check out the gluebooks Yahoo! group.
