Tap. Tap. Is this thing on?

It’s been a while since my last blog post on this blog. Okay, it’s been a really long while. But I just wanted to public address the fact that a) I’m not dead. b) I have not been abducted by aliens. and c) Ravelry has not taken over my life. Okay, scratch c.

We’re going to try this creative crafty bloggy thing again, although I feel it may take on a bit of a different feel. That’s okay. The fact is that I miss my blog and I’ve decided that if I can surf Ravelry and breastfeed simultaneously then I can probably post a entry or two on my blog. The kid feeds for upto 2 hours at a go… I’ve got the time. Besides I have a project I want to work on and I need my blog to house it. ;)

See you tomorrow… in 2008. :)

New Year's Day Crop

If you fancy doing a bit of scrapbooking today, please come over and join us at the Scrap That Moment for our Ricky Nelson Day Crop. It all officially starts off at about noon EST, but we’ll definitely be chatting before then.

If you’re not a scrapper, then I hope you are bringing in the new year in your own creative manner.

New Gallery Added

I’ve added a new gallery to the top navigation bar—Artsy Gallery. This gallery will now contain all the non-photo and non-layout items in the galleries, such as fibre arts, assemblage, ATCs, altered books, etc. that were previously situated amongst all the scrapbook layouts.

I think this will makes things just a wee bit easier to find. :)

Online crop at SSS this weekend!

If you are interesting in spending the weekend scrapping and chatting, then you might was to head over the Shauna’s Shoppe this weekend. We’ll be chatting and scrapping from Friday at 4pm, BC time (which is 12midnight in Britain, so I may not personally be there for the kick-off) ;) We have lots of challenges and games planned for the weekend, it’ll be lots of fun. There’s also some great prizes to be won.

We also have two chats planned for the weekend. Friday is the chat with Donna Downey and Saturday is the chat with Shauna and the DT. For full info, please check out the message boards.

To participate you’ll need to be a member of Shauna’s Shoppe. I hope to see a lot our members there, and maybe a few new faces, too. If our past crops are anything to go by, this should be fun. :)

A bit of a non-closure week...

I’ve been working on a lot of stuff this week… lots of different projects. But for one reason or another I haven’t been able to finish any of them. It’s a bit disappointing, really. I love sharing my creations here.

Hopefully I’ve finally got everything I need to finish up a few of these ideas, and I’ll be able to start posting the finished results. I think it would be nice to tie up a few of those loose ends… including the painting I was working on for my husband’s birthday, which will now be a belated birthday gift. At least he knows I’m working on it… it’s taking up an entire table in the lounge.

Going back to working on my projects now. Wish me luck that I actually get some of them done soon!

Getting Back into the Swing of Things...

It’s been a crazy few weeks, in many ways. Nothing overly traumatic or anything, just… draining. Certain things have been playing on my mind and draining the life and creative energy out of my body, but these things always seem to work themselves in cycles and I’m working myself back up. I can feel the creative energies refueling.

And it’s about time. ;)

I’ll have several things to share here this week, and font friday will return on friday.

It’s nice to be back. I’ve missed my blog. :)

Getting Back on Track

... things have gotten a little off track. I’m currently trying to get myself back in the groove. I’ll start with figuring out what DAY it is. Does everybody else realize it’s Monday or was I the only one left in the dark?

Font Friday will return this Friday. I’ll throw in a few extra fonts this Friday for missing last Friday entirely. My mind must have been elsewhere… probably in France.

I also have a slew of layouts that need to be posted, so I’ll get on those as soon as I can. In fact, I think I’ll post them next. ;)

It's been a long couple of weeks...

I’ve been doing a lot of creating over the last few weeks. I’ve been watching a lot of paint dry. I’m quite happy with the progress I’ve been making and very excited about the outcomes, but unfortunately I can’t share it here. At least not at the moment.

I’m looking forward to doing a few quick projects in the near future between assignments. Look for some sheep ATCs coming to this blog in the near future! ;)

I've been tagged...

I don’t normally play games like this, but it’s scrapbook related so i’ll do it…. ;)

What scrapbook lines/products, etc. do you dislike?

There are a few i’m not overly keen on, but the only company i really dislike is Zsiage. It’s just not me.

What is the hardest thing you have ever had to scrap?

The layout I did for the Ricky Nelson contest last year. It was about my musical history (something that really touched me in so many ways) and in it I journalled about my late grandfather, who was very dear to me.

What technique do you use more than anything else?

I can only pick one??? I’d have to say inking. I ink almost everything. Beyond that, stamping, sewing and handcut titles.

What is the smallest scrap of paper you save?

2×2 inches or 12 inches by anything (and i do have a few 12x.25inch pieces running around).

Have you ever had any scrapbook related injuries?

Far to many to list on a single blog. Usually involving sharp things. Or hot things.

Finish this sentence: If I wan’t a scrapbooker/stamper, I’d be spending my money on

Art supplies. Joey buys me my photography equipement ;)

Give us your best storage or organizational idea.

I use hanging file folders to sort my cardstock, and it lives right under my desk. I don’t have tons of cardstock, so this works really well for me. Each basic colour has it’s own file folder, and I also include a griplock bag for small pieces so they don’t get lost.

You just won a week long scrapbooking cruise for 5. Who is going with you?

I’m going on a scrapping cruise??? WOOHOOOO!!! Going to pack now…

... oh, this is hypothetical. Right.

I’d take Malena (because she’s always making me smile… even if she doesn’t know it), Flavia (because she’s the sweetest person you could ever meet… and I have), Anna Sigga (cause this chick just rocks), Lynette (the scrapbooker I’ve known the longest, and someone I do consider a friend), and with me that’s 5. Are you sure I couldn’t bring a few more people, cause there are at least a dozen more i’d like to bring!!! Maybe we’ll just smuggle a few extra in suitcases….. (Anna can bring Svala, Net can bring Athene and Juli, I can bring my mate Sue…. maybe somebody could swing by California to pick up Heidi and Val, while someones grabs Cari and Ki in Canada. No… I still don’t think we have enough suitcases…)

When you received your first publication notification, who did you tell?

You’re supposed to tell people??

Thanks again Jami!! :)

I am tagging….
